Across the nation, hospitals have been charging more for prescriptions given to total joint replacement patients, according to research from Hospital Pricing Specialists.

1. The research analyzed more than 1.3 million claims involving total joint replacement or major joint reattachment in 2014 and 2015.
2. On average daily pharmacy charges increased by 22 percent from '14 to '15.
3. The price of MS-DRG 470 was the increased in every state except Rhode Island. Rhode Island decreased the price 13.6 percent.
4. Massachusetts had the highest increase at 31 percent.
5. New Mexico had the lowest increase at 0.7 percent
