Brian M. Babka, MD, and Jerome Kolavo, MD, will begin seeing patients at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital, treating DeKalb, Ill., residents' sports and spine-related injuries, according to a report from The Daily Chronical.
Here are four things to know:
1. Dr. Babka is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine, and has played a vital role in building a strong sports concussion and sports medicine program in the western suburbs of Chicago.
2. Dr. Babka has a particular interest in sports medicine, overuse injuries, sports performance and sports concussion care.
3. A board-certified surgeon, Dr. Kolavo conducts spine surgeries such as microsurgery of lumbar and cervical spine, reconstructive spine surgery, spinal deformity surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery.
4. Dr. Kolavo treats both common conditions and complex surgeries in an effort to reduce patients' pain and restore movement and quality of life.
