Steven Shin, MD, will operate on the right forearm of Los Angeles Angels' pitcher Matt Shoemaker on Aug. 8, MLB.com reports.

1. Mr. Shoemaker has a compressed radial nerve in his right forearm.

 

2. The team expects Mr. Shoemaker will be out for 12 to 14 weeks as he recuperates.

 

3. Dr. Shin is the hand surgery director at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.

 

4. He is a consultant to the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks.
