Timothy Kremchek, MD, team medical director for the Cincinnati Reds, recently performed shoulder surgery on Reds third baseman Scott Rolen to remove bone spur fragments in his non-throwing arm, according to an MLB report.
The arthroscopic procedure was performed on Mr. Rolen's injured left arm. Mr. Rolen was first placed on the disabled list in April due to pain in his shoulder. He has undergone two previous surgeries in the left shoulder for a torn labrum.
