Randy Viola, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., recently performed thumb surgery on Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, according to a Vail Daily news report.
Mr. Cutler injured his thumb during a game earlier this month and sought the opinion of several medical professionals before deciding on surgery. He is now recovering from the procedure and will miss several, if not all, remaining games in the 2011 season.
