Robert BrayRobert Bray Jr., MD (DISC Sports & Spine Center, Marina Del Rey, Calif.). Dr. Bray is the CEO and founding director of DISC Sports & Spine Center. He previously was instrumental in developing the Institute for Spinal Disorders at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and served in the United States Air Force, including time as chief of neurosurgery at David Grant Medical Center.

 

Throughout his career, Dr. Bray has dedicated his practice to minimally invasive procedures, performing more than 10,000 successful surgeries with a 95 percent focus on outpatient procedures. DISC includes two ambulatory surgery centers where he and his colleagues treat a variety of patients, including professional athletes. Dr. Bray served as a team physician for the Los Angeles Kings and Red Bull America athletes. Additionally, 21 athletes treated at the center went to the London Olympics, collecting 12 medals.

 

In 2009, he discovered thoracic epidural arteriovenous malformation disease and developed a protocol to identify the disease. He now treats it in the outpatient setting.

 

Dr. Bray earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed additional training at Baylor affiliated hospitals.
