Tampa-based Laser Spine Institute unveiled research on outpatient minimally invasive laminotomy foraminotomy decompression.
The study followed 500 Laser Spine Institute patients with lumbar spinal stenosis over two years.
Here are four highlights:
1. The study found patients who underwent minimally invasive laminotomy and foraminotomy procedures experienced fewer complications and enhanced outcomes.
2. Laser Spine Institute also reports shorter operative times; less blood loss; pain level reduction; and quicker return to work.
3. Laser Spine Institute's Michael C. Weiss, DO, presented the findings at the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Annual Forum '16, held in Las Vegas from Oct. 13 to Oct. 15, 2016.
4. Dr. Weiss serves as the chairman of the surgery department.
