Ascom strategically aligned with Stryker to integrate Ascom's Unite software with Stryker's iBed Wireless Smartbed system.
Here are three things to know:
1. The goal of the partnership is to prevent patient falls by monitoring bed status, checking for compliance with hospital protocols and alerting hospital staff of patient safety risks.
2. Ascom's Unite system monitors and evaluates bed status against a patient's protocols. The system has responses to siderails down, bed exit systems disabled and bed not in low height, among others.
3. The bed monitoring system can then send mobile alerts, displays on dashboards and other reporting to the necessary staff. The system can also be altered for beds not in use or patients not considered a fall risk.
