Johnson & Johnson reported fourth quarter and full-year results for DePuy Synthes, its orthopedics division.
Five things to know:
1. In the fourth quarter, DePuy Synthes reported a 1 percent decrease in sales to $2.2 billion.
2. Fourth quarter hip sales reached $365 million, flat from the same period last year. Knee sales dropped 1.3 percent to $392 million, while trauma remained flat at $674 million. Spine and other sales dropped 2.9 percent to $831 million.
3. For the full year, DePuy Synthes sales dropped 1.9 percent to $8.8 billion.
4. 2018 full-year breakdown of orthopedic sales includes:
• Hips: $1.4 billion (1.7 percent increase)
• Knees: $1.5 billion (1.4 percent decrease)
• Trauma: $2.7 billion (3.2 percent increase)
• Spine and other: $3.2 billion (7.3 percent decrease)
