Orthopedic surgeon Richard Hynes, MD, was the first surgeon to use Viseon's MaxView system for minimally invasive oblique lateral interbody fusion.
The MaxView system provides high-definition intraoperative visualization of the surgical field on a monitor display, according to an April 13 news release. It uses adjustable LED lights to improve illumination.
"The new MaxView camera provided excellent visualization and was easy to integrate into the OLIF procedure," Dr. Hynes said. "The dedicated lighting is crucial for access and visualization throughout the procedure, so this is a significant technological advancement over the previous generation."
