Cedars-Sinai selected 10 startups to join its health-tech accelerator class.
In its third year, the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator Powered by Techstars is a three-month program offering startups financial support, training and an entrepreneurial network. Cedars-Sinai entered the five-year exclusive agreement with Techstars in 2016.
Here are four highlights:
1. The selected startups include:
• Aiva — voice-assistance platform for hospitals and clinical environments
• CancerAid — app providing individualized cancer therapy information
• ChoiceMap — software allowing joint physician/patient decision-making
• GYANT — artificial intelligence bot enhancing communication with patients
• Invio — cloud-based content management systems enhancing efficiency, reducing costs
• Lumeon — automated pathways based on medical conditions and need
• NarrativeDx — patient experience management tool
• Seremedi — mobile app and software helping surgical preparation/recovery
• Sway Health — system for providers to quickly deliver behavior change services
• Tasso — system simplifying blood sampling
2. Throughout the program, Cedars-Sinai physicians will mentor entrepreneurs as they evolve their products. Techstars, a company helping entrepreneurs develop their ideas, will also provide guidance.
3. Each startup will start with a $120,000 initial investment and work with Techstars' global network.
4. The 10 startups will strive to create products to ease healthcare's greatest challenges, such as the patient experience.
