Specialty Orthopedic Group opened its new facility in Tupelo, Miss., after four years of planning and construction, reports The Daily Journal.
Four insights:
1. The almost 33,000-square-foot center features a clinic with 22 exam rooms, a physical therapy center with a pool and an outpatient surgical center with four operating rooms designed for orthopedic procedures.
2. SOC has over 70 team members including six orthopedic surgeons and four nurse practitioners. Two more orthopedic surgeons are set to join the group in August.
3. SOC is in the final stages of seeking accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care for its surgical center.
4. It will enable the orthopedic surgeons to provide more outpatient options and they will still perform procedures at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo.
