The American Medical Association released a new tool for physicians addressing their needs with MACRA.
Here are the three new resources:
1. AMA Payment Model Evaluator offers the initial assessment to physicians to determine how MACRA will affect their practices. The tool also provides educational and actionable resources and guidance in which MACRA payment model is best for them.
2. AMA STEPS Forward provides practice improvement strategies and now has MACRA-specific tools. The STEPS Forward modules focus on challenges and offer solutions as well as steps for implementation. A few topics covered in the 42 modules include implementing team-based care, EHR selection, preparing for value-based care and quality reporting.
3. Inside Medicare's New Payment System is a podcast partnership between AMA and ReachMD. Andy Slavitt, acting administrator of CMS, and AMA President Andrew Gurman, MD, as well as others are featured in the series informing listeners on upcoming Medicare changes.
