Alexis Colvin, MD, is an associate professor of sports medicine at New York City-based Mount Sinai Hospital in the Leni and Peter W. May Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She is the CMO for the United States Tennis Association, the team physician for the U.S. Fed Cup team, and she serves as a physician at the U.S. Open.
Dr. Colvin is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and International Society for Hip Arthroscopy. She has also served as a physician at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Her clinical interests include Achilles tendon rupture, anterior cruciate ligament injury, calf muscle strain, chondromalacia patella, clavicle fracture, hip labral tears and shoulder tendinopathy. She has authored numerous scientific publications.
Dr. Colvin completed her medical degree at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City. She has also completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh.
