Asif Ilyas, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute in Philadelphia.
Dr. Ilyas is also affiliated with Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Bryn Mawr (Pa.) Hospital and the Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital in Bensalem, Pa.
With expertise in hand and upper extremity surgery, Dr. Ilyas serves as program director of Rothman Orthopaedic Institute's hand and upper extremity fellowship as well as the head team hand surgery consultant for the Philadelphia Eagles and 76ers.
Dr. Ilyas' additional specialties include wrist, elbow and orthopedic trauma surgery as well as nerve injury, opioids and pain management. He is chair of the Rothman Institute Foundation for Opioid Research and Education.
Dr. Ilyas serves as president of the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, and he is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Association for Hand Surgery and AO North America.
After earning his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Dr. Ilyas completed his residency at Philadelphia-based Temple University Hospital and hand, upper extremity and microsurgery fellowship training at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
