Orthopedic surgeon David Cashen, MD, has received Lakewood Ranch (Fla.) Medical Center's Patients' Choice Award, according to an Aug. 4 news release.
The award recognizes physicians with the most positive comments from hospital patients.
Dr. Cashen joined Bradenton, Fla.-based Coastal Orthopedics in 2007 and joined Lakewood Ranch Medical Center the following year. He has served as medical director of the hospital's Orthopedic Spine and Joint Center since 2012.
He specializes in hip and knee replacements, complex revision surgery and arthritis care techniques.
After completing his orthopedic residency at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Dr. Cashen continued his postgraduate education with the Zimmer Arthroplasty fellowship at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, and another fellowship at Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic in Arlington, Va.
