Bangor, Maine-based St. Joseph Hospital has received a $2 million donation to boost its orthopedic program, according to a Jan. 18 report from the Bangor Daily News.
The donation was gifted by a community resident and will change the orthopedic facility's name to the Cathy Gero Orthopedic Center.
A portion of the funds has gone toward the purchase of an orthopedic robot, according to the report. An additional portion of the funds will be used to add new technology and improve patient spaces.
The hospital will seek feedback from staffers and orthopedic care partners on how to use the remaining funds.
