Mount Sinai opens surgery center for spine, orthopedics: 6 notes

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System opened a spine and orthopedic surgery center, according to a Sept. 30 news release.

Six things to know:

1. The Peakpoint Midtown West Surgery Center is 25,106 square-foot ASC.

2. The ASC primarily focuses on orthopedic surgery, spine surgery and neurosurgery. Outpatient breast surgeries are also offered.

3. The ASC includes the Mako robot for total joint replacements, Hana tables for anterior hip replacements and imaging to support complex spine surgeries.

4. It has four operating rooms and 12 recovery bays.

5. Peakpoint Midtown West Surgery Center can accommodate 23-hour stays.

6. The surgery center is located one floor below Mount Sinai's Peakpoint Midtown West Surgery Center.
