The ACAC has developed a program, Physician Referred Exercise Program, advocating for patients to integrate exercise into their treatment plan, according to ABC News.
Here are four notes:
1. ACAC designed p.r.e.p nearly 12 year ago and has gained traction as more physicians embrace exercise as a mode of treatment.
2. Patients partaking in p.r.e.p must have a signed physician referral.
3. Studies confirm that increasing activity under a physician's supervision can control or reverse a range of conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.
4. ACAC states p.r.e.p may be covered through insurance as preventative care or through some companies. If not, the course costs $60 for 60 days.
