Kevin H. Latz, MD, is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
With expertise in sports medicine, Dr. Latz serves as chief and director of Children's Mercy Hospital's Center for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Latz is also affiliated with University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine, where he serves as an assistant orthopedic surgery professor.
In 2016, Dr. Latz received Children Mercy Hospital's Golden Glove Award, which is awarded for patient safety. He was also named to Kansas City Magazine's Top Doctors list in 2015-16.
Dr. Latz is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Academy of Pediatrics and Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. He is also a member of Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine and Research in Osteochondritis Dissecans of the Knee.
After earning his medical degree from San Antonio-based University of Texas Health Science Center, Dr. Latz completed his residency at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City. He then underwent fellowship training in pediatric sports medicine at Boston Children's Hospital and pediatric orthopedic surgery at Toronto, Canada-based Hospital for Sick Children.
