Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Harry Demos of Medical University of South Carolina

Harry A. Demos, MD, PhD, is an orthopedic surgeon and an associate professor of orthopedics at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He joined the MUSC’s department of orthopedics faculty in 2001 and currently represents the department in multiple areas throughout the hospital system, including the Health Information Services Committee and EMR Advisory Board.

Dr. Demos focuses on hip and knee replacements as well as arthritis conditions. His research work has been published in journals such as Operative Techniques in Orthopaedics, The Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery and American Journal of Knee Surgery. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and South Carolina Orthopaedic Association.

 

Dr. Demos earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, where he also completed his orthopedic surgery residency. He then completed his fellowship in adult reconstruction at the University of Western Ontario Medical Center in London, Ontario in Canada.
