Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Martin O’Malley of Hospital for Special Surgery

Martin J. O’Malley, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at the New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.

Dr. O’Malley joined HSS in 1993. The author of nearly 100 articles and book chapters, he is an associate orthopedic surgery professor at New York City-based Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. O’Malley serves as a team physician for the Brooklyn Nets, USA Basketball and New Rochelle, N.Y.-based Iona College Athletics. He is also the New York Giants’ and New York City Ballet’s foot and ankle consultant.

Castle Connolly has named Dr. O’Malley a Top Doctor in the New York Metro Area since 2003. Dr. O’Malley also received the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society’s Roger Mann Award in 1995.

After graduating from Cleveland-based Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Dr. O’Malley underwent residency training at Tufts University Affiliated Hospitals in Boston. He completed a fellowship at HSS.
