Brian Cohen, MD, has completed 2,000 MAKO robotic joint replacement procedures, the Scioto Valley Guardian reported Sept. 28.
Dr. Cohen, an orthopedic surgeon and founder of Columbus, Ohio-based Cohen Orthopedics, was the first physician in South Central Ohio to perform robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement procedures, according to the publication.
"Two-thousand is just a number, but what it represents is more important," Dr. Cohen told the Scioto Valley Guardian. "It serves as a commitment from me to my patients and it is symbolic of the advanced technologies that I promise to continue to provide. Technologies, like MAKO, help make me a better surgeon, so I can do the best procedure for each individual patient."
