Marc A. Weinstein, MD, of Tampa-based Florida Orthopaedic Institute's Spine Center, will serve as principal investigator for a clinical study on Expanding Orthopedics' FLXfit Lordotic Expandable Cage.

1. Dr. Weinstein will head the study at Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital.
2. He praises the device's ability to tailor to specific patient anatomy.
3. Dr. Weinstein reported "impressive results" for the initial 15 patients receiving the expandable cage.
4. The FLXfit is designed to restore and maintain sagittal alignment.
5. Expanding Orthopedics' U.S. headquarters are in Atlanta.
"The FLXfit unique design, simple technique and instrumentation allows me to deliver a large footprint device toward the front of the disc space where stability is critical," said Dr. Weinstein.
