Fusion Robotics closed its financing round for an undisclosed figure with lead investment by Alex Lukianov of Lukpartners and Kevin Foley, MD.
The funds will go towards developing the company's spinal robotics line to achieve FDA clearance and prepare for commercialization.
The company's platform integrates technologies from two medical device companies: Interventional Systems and Practical Navigation.
"Fusion Robotics will create opportunities for wide-scale adoption of robotics in spine surgery — both in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers — by addressing constraints related to practicality and cost. We see tremendous potential and are excited to bring this technology to the global spine market," said Mr. Lukianov, who will become chairman of the board for Fusion Robotics.
