5 medtech notes: Orthofix, Globus Medical and more

From financial reports to product launches, here are five key updates from spine devicemakers since Feb. 19.

1. Medtronic launched the CD Horizon ModuLeX spinal system for deformity surgery.

2. Globus Medical saw fourth quarter net sales grow 6.6% year over year, and full year sales leapt 60.6%.

3. Orthofix is discontinuing its M6-C and M6-L total disc replacement devices as part of its strategic focus on spinal and deformity correction.

4. Orthofix reported gains in its fourth quarter and full year sales but saw net losses. Fourth-quarter sales grew 8% year over year with $215.7 million. Full year 2024 sales were $799.5 million, a 7% increase. 

5. Zimmer Biomet is updating its board of directors, naming a new chair and lead independent director.
