Stefan Renaud, DO, performed the first case with Amplify Surgical's 15-degree lordotic DualX interbody fusion implant.
The device was used in a two-level transforaminal interbody fusion at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, N.C., according to an April 4 news release. The 15-degree lordotic implant has a small footprint and is designed for minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Renaud said in the release that the 15-degree cage provides indirect decompression.
"For this TLIF procedure, my patient presented with severe stenosis at L3-4 and L4-5 and a loss of lordosis," he said. "For these reasons the goals of surgery were decompression, reduction of spondylolisthesis and restoration of lordosis."
