RTI Surgical acquires Paradigm Spine – 4 things to know

RTI Surgical completed its acquisition of Paradigm Spine.

Four things to know:

1. On Nov. 1, 2018, the company announced plans to acquire Paradigm Spine for up to $300 million to strengthen its spine products line.

2. “The acquisition of Paradigm aligns with RTI’s growth strategy focused on investing in differentiated products and building scale within our spine business,” said RTI CEO Camille Farhat. It is the second acquisition RTI has completed for its spine portfolio since the second half of 2017.

3. Paradigm Spine’s flagship product, the coflex Interlaminar Stabilization device, is designed to treat moderately severe lumbar spinal stenosis in conjunction with decompression.

4. RTI’s existing spine portfolio consists of hardware, interbody and biologic options.
