Dr. Veeravagu focuses on the advancement of minimally invasive surgical techniques for diseases of the spine.
In 2012, he was appointed by former President Barack Obama appointed Dr. Veeravagu as special assistant to former U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to guide policy on traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and mental health treatment for the military.
He graduated from Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University’s biomedical engineering program with a focus on spinal cord injury and regeneration and completed his residency at Stanford (Calif.) University School of Medicine.
Dr. Veeravagu completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and complex deformity spine at Stanford University with both neurosurgical and orthopedic training and a clinical scholar rotation at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, focusing on endoscopic and robotic spine surgery.
