Samuel Critides Jr., MD, a retired Navy commander, joined Sacred Heart Medical Group in Pensacola as a neurosurgeon, according to a Pensacola News Journal report.
Dr. Critides is a spinal cord injury specialist and has experience treating Marines wounded Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts. He also tended to Haitian earthquake victims. He served in the Navy for 20 years and has a special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery.
He earned his medical degree at New Jersey Medical School and completed his residency in neurosurgery at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. His additional training includes a complex spine surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic.
