Sandeep Sherlekar, MD, an American Spine surgeon, will present at the International 34th ISMISS Conference held in Chongquing, China.
Here are four highlights:
1. Dr. Sherlekar will present his paper titled "Early Evaluation of Value-Based Ambulatory Endoscopic Spine Surgery."
2. ISMISS focused on the fields of minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgeries.
3. The results of Dr. Sherlekar's research include:
- Spine surgery at any level (neck, mid and lower spine) can be performed in the outpatient surgical center;
- Patients can all be discharged to home on the day of the surgery;
- There is a very high level of postoperative pain control;
- No increased infection risk;
- While costing approximately one-third the cost of surgery done in a hospital setting.
4. Dr. Sherlekar is a founding member of American Spine, a practice dedicated to least invasive spinal treatments.
