Dr. Mats Agren joins spine department at Maine Medical Partners

Scarborough-based Maine Medical Partners — Neurosurgery & Spine added Swedish spine surgeon Mats Agren, MD, to its medical staff, reports Portland Press Herald.

Dr. Agren specializes in treating complex spine disorders using minimally invasive techniques for fusion and kyphoplasty.

He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia.

Dr. Agren completed a residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester and a spine fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

He is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.
