Neurosurgeon and notable car collector Dr. Frederick Simeone dies

Former chief of neurosurgery at Pennsylvania Hospital Frederick Simeone, MD, died at age 86, NBC Philadelphia reported June 12.

Dr. Simeone worked as chief of neurosurgery at the Philadelphia-based hospital for 25 years and retired in 2008, the report said. He wrote multiple papers and medical books. 

After retirement, he launched the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum and grew his father’s car collection. His car collection was internationally recognized and was visited by former “The Tonight Show” host and fellow car collector Jay Leno.
