Washington Nationals pitcher Matt Cronin had surgery to repair a herniated disc, he said in an Aug. 2 Instagram post.
Mr. Cronin thanked Thomas Tolli, MD, a spine surgeon in Saint Petersburg, Fla., in his post.
"I had been dealing with pain in my left shoulder/arm for the last [two] years but could never seem to find anything wrong with them," Mr. Cronin wrote. "That was up until about a month ago when we decided to have my spine checked and found a large herniated disc at my C5-C6 level."
The Washington Nationals haven't announced a timeline for Mr. Cronin's recovery, MLB Trade Rumors said Aug. 2.
