Dr. Michael Kelly to lead scoliosis, spinal deformity department at children’s hospital

Michael Kelly, MD, joined Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego as director of scoliosis and spinal deformities.

Dr. Kelly comes to the hospital from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was an associate professor of orthopedics, director of the spine fellowship program and director of spine research, according to a May 10 news release. In his new role, he will oversee orthopedics at Rady Children’s and work with Peter Newton, MD, chief of the orthopedics and scoliosis division.

“Rady Children’s is a dream come true for a physician like me who values providing the best care possible while propelling the standards of care forward through extensive research and use of innovative technology,” Dr. Kelly said in the release.
