Dr. Desai’s research evaluates the safety of bone marrow aspirate stem cell concentrate, platelet-rich plasma and lipoaspirate for degenerative disc disease, acute and chronic disc injuries as well as discogenic pain.
The paper also examines resorption of diseased herniations, extrusions, healing of annular tears and imaging findings of disc repairs.
Dr. Desai specializes in musculoskeletal radiology and interventional joint and spine medicine. In 2013 he cofounded RestorePDX, an interventional sports and spine clinic in Beaverton, Ore.
He began his term as president-elect of the IOF this year.
