Dr. Yu-Po Lee joins UC Irvine: 5 key notes

Yu-Po Lee, MD, joined the UC Irvine department of orthopedic surgery.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Lee:

 

1. He has more than 11 years of experience in orthopedics and been voted To Doc for the past five years. He’s also been recognized by America’s Top Orthopedic Surgeons and Best Doctors.

 

2. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Lee has published more than 70 manuscripts and book chapters. His research has received the OREF resident research award.

 

3. Dr. Lee serves on the educational committees for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery and past chair for the Spine Study Group.

 

4. He was appointed clinical professor at the University of California, Irvine, and will lead the charge to develop a combined orthopedic and neurosurgery spine fellowship at UC Irvine. He has a special interest in treating disc herniations, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and degenerative scoliosis.

 

5. Dr. Lee earned his medical degree at UCLA, where he also completed his orthopedic surgery resident. He underwent a spine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic.
