Spine Surgical Innovation has announced the launching of the Minimal Incision-Maximum Sight (MIMS) Institute.
The purpose of the MIMS Institute, according to founder Russell P. Holmes in a statement on the MIMS website, is "to increase the awareness of patients and spine surgeons about a unique and patented minimally invasive spine surgical retraction system that utilizes an elegant design to provide faster, simpler and safer spine procedures." Mr. Holmes is referring to Spine Surgical Innovation's Swivel Port MIS (minimally invasive surgery) system.
The MIMS Institute aims to help physicians and practice administrators network with other specialists with common challenges, offer an unbiased source of information and support local marketing efforts.
To help communicate the MIMS perspective of what MIS for the spine is really, or should, be all about, Chris Zorn, executive director of MIMS, provides a nearly seven minute video overview which can be found on YouTube by clicking here.
