Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association honored based Virtua Memorial Hospital Burlington County (N.J.) with its Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery designation.

2. In addition to the spine surgery designation award, Virtua Memorial Hospital also received designation as an Aetna Institute of Quality Orthopedic Care Facility for spine surgery.
3. Aetna recognizes hospitals and facilities within its network that offer specialized clinical services for specific health conditions. Those who are selected to receive the designation are consistently delivering evidence-based, safe care.
4. Virtua is one of the largest, nonprofit health systems within the state and is comprised of more than 500 physicians and clinicians.
5. Virtua’s health system includes ambulatory surgery centers, health and wellness centers, fitness centers, home health services, long-term care and rehabilitation centers and a paramedic program.
