Robert P. Mack, MD, a physician with Orthopaedic Associates of Aspen in Glenwood Springs, Colo., was inducted to the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine's hall of fame during the AOSSM annual meeting in Providence, R.I., according to an AOSSM news release.
Dr. Mack founded the Rainbow Sports Medicine Center at University Hospitals in Cleveland, served as chief of orthopaedics at Metropolitan General Hospital in Cleveland as well as a physician at the Denver Orthopaedic Clinic. He has contributed to 24 publications and 133 presentations during his career.
Additionally, Dr. Mack's laboratory research conducted in Cleveland resulted in findings about ski binding which led to a significant decrease in tibia fractures while alpine skiing. He has served as team physician for several high school teams as well as the Cleveland Crusaers/Barons and the U.S. Ski Team.
