The Portland Pirates, a minor professional hockey team in the American Hockey League, recently named OA Centers for Orthopaedics as the official team physicians for this coming season, according to a practice news release.
As part of the agreement, OA physicians will be at every Pirates game and conduct follow-ups on all injuries. The physicians will work with athletes, athletic trainers and the coach to provide the best treatment and rehabilitation plans after an injury occurs. Additionally, OA will use the ImPACT concussion management testing with the players.
OA also serves as team physicians for Portland Phoenix Soccer, Portland Sea Dogs minor league baseball team and several other local teams.
