Craig Westin, MD, a physician with the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute in Chicago and the Chicago Center for Orthopedics at Weiss Hospital, has been named the troupe physician for the Joffrey Ballet, according to a CCO news release.
Dr. Westin has a professional interest in sports medicine, specifically using minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques for outpatient knee and shoulder repair. He is a certified surgeon in cartilage repair and restoration and uses many non-operative techniques with his patients.
Dr. Westin is also affiliated with the U.S. Figure Skating Team. He earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center and completed his residencies at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and Harvard University in Boston.
