Dr. Michael Ciccotti Examines Shoulder of Philadelphia Phillies Pitcher Brad Lidge

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Philadelphia Phillies' team physician recently examined closing pitcher Brad Lidge's shoulder and concluded there could be a possible tear, according to a report from The Morning Call.

Michael Ciccotti, MD, of Philadelphia's Rothman Institute, examined Mr. Lidge's shoulder yesterday and ordered an MRI for tomorrow. The MRI will be compared with an MRI taken of Mr. Lidge in 2008.

If the MRI doesn't show significant damage, Mr. Lidge will rehab his shoulder to treat the pain symptoms. Earlier in the preseason he suffered from biceps tendonitis.
