University of Alabama at Birmingham is opening a multispecialty sports medicine and cardiology clinic to serve young athletes, according to a May 25 release.
The clinic, UAB Sports Medicine, is a partnership between the UAB School of Medicine Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery, Family and Community Medicine and the Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics.
The clinic will be specialized for adolescent and young adult athletes who need simultaneous cardiology and sports medicine treatment for conditions such as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and post-COVID-19 cardiology complications.
