In a supplement filing, an attorney representing Western Kentucky Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Associates alleged a proposed deal between Western Kentucky University and The Medical Center is in violation of federal anti-kickback laws, the Bowling Green Daily News reports.

1. The deal to construct a new sports medicine center is on hold as state legislators respond to WKONA's complaint. As part of the deal, employees of WKU would receive incentives to use The Medical Center for their healthcare.
2. The lawyer representing WKONA alleges that the process would subject the university and the state to the "risk of civil and criminal liabilities."
3. Representatives of the university and The Medical Center had no comments on WKONA's supplement.
