Mariners Medical Director Edward Khalfayan, MD, of Seattle-based Orthopedic Physician Associates examined and diagnosed Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez and outfielder Mitch Haniger's injuries, according to The Seattle Times.
Here are six things to know:
1. Mr. Hernandez was pulled from his start on Tuesday, April 25 with a "dead arm," as team Manager Scott Servais said.
2. Mr. Haniger strained his right oblique during an at-bat on Tues., April 25.
3. Both players were placed on the 10-day disabled list on Wed., April 26, according to The Seattle Times.
4. They both underwent MRIs and met with Dr. Khalfayan on Friday, April 28.
5. Mr. Hernandez was diagnosed with bursitis in his right shoulder and will likely miss three to four weeks.
6. Mr. Haniger suffered a Grade 2 strain of his right oblique and is also expected to miss three to four weeks.
