Cambridge Health Alliance in the Boston area has become the official medical provider for the Boston Cannons, a Major League Lacrosse team, according to a league news release.
Eric Launer, MD, an orthopedic sports medicine physician, will serve as head team physician. He has expertise in advanced arthroscopic surgery, joint preservation, joint replacement surgery and fracture care.
CHA will also be the official training and physical therapy partner for the Cannons' 2011 season. The hospital is already the official sports medicine provider for the Boston Blazers National Lacrosse League team, the Boston Breakers professional women's soccer team and the Boston Militia women's tackle football team.
