Orthofix's investigation into its bone growth stimulation business has concluded, and the company will pay $43 million to fully resolve matters, both criminal and civil. The terms of the settlement also include a court-imposed five-year probation, during which Orthofix must comply with the terms of a Corporate Integrity Agreement, according to the release.
The charges were brought against the orthopedic device manufacturer in the first quarter of 2011, and executives said they are pleased with the resolution to Orthofix's third major government investigation settlement this year, according to the release.
