MAKO Surgical's Robotic Arm System Shows Promise of Improved Accuracy, Decreased Pain

Mark Blyth, MD, Angus Maclean, MD, Bryn Jones, MD, Phil Rowe, PhD and Iain Anthony, PhD, have conducted a clinical study of MAKO Surgical's RIO Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System in order to determine the system's accuracy and ability to decrease postoperative pain, according to a MAKO Surgical news release. The orthopedic surgeons and researchers of Glasgow Royal Infirmary and the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland, found that the system was an effective minimally invasive option.
