Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush is now offering a physician rating system that is available to the public on the MOR website.
Here are five things to know:
1. Patients were asked to answer questions about a variety of their physician's abilities.
2. Questions focused on how well the physician understood the patient's ailment, carefully reviewed their medical history, listened to their needs and showed respect for their concerns.
3. The data was converted to a one-to-five star rating scale. Ratings can now be viewed on each physician's page on MOR's website.
4. According to Charles Bush-Joseph, MD, managing partner at MOR, 72 percent of internet users search online for healthcare information.
5. The rating program was executed by an independent third party utilizing a software system that collects and consolidates data provided by patients about their experience during an appointment.
